Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled professional to join our Water and Wetlands and Coastal Science team. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in developing advanced computer-based data processing and modelling techniques to predict and evaluate inundation extent and trends across wetlands in the Murray-Darling Basin.
- The ideal candidate will integrate remote sensing and spatial analysis processes, leveraging Python for environmental data analysis and modelling.
- Responsibilities include analysing and evaluating trends in wetland hydrology using spatial datasets.
- Field work for wetland inundation monitoring and support planning, organisational, and other relevant field-based skills will also be required.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or postgraduate degree in environmental science, geospatial science, or a related discipline is essential.
- Extensive scripting experience using Python for modelling and computer-based analysis of environmental spatial data is necessary.
- Proficiency in data management, remote sensing, and spatial analysis using Arc Pro, QGIS, or similar software is required.
- Relevant ecological field work monitoring experience is highly desirable.
