Experience the Military Difference

You will get a taste of life in the Australian Defence Force with a 12-month service experience. During this time, you'll gain skills for life in one of three rewarding support roles: Driver, Administration Assistant or Warehouse Coordinator.

This experience will arm you with the skills and knowledge to contribute to your career journey inside or outside of the Australian Defence Force. Upon completion, you'll have the opportunity to leave or continue your military employment in a full-time or part-time capacity.

You'll be supported throughout your training by professional and enthusiastic military personnel, who will provide the guidance necessary for you to get the most out of this experience.

Once you're finished your training, you'll join a unit and provide vital support to military teams to keep them operating at their peak while on exercise or in barracks.

This experience isn't just reserved for people that are straight out of school. It's a unique opportunity where you'll get the chance to try out a year in Defence, learning how to fulfill a support role that's unlike any other.

You'll get paid to travel and gain invaluable life and work experience, while making friendships that could last a lifetime.

Once you complete your initial military training, you'll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles:

  • Driver: You'll get behind the wheels of an exciting variety of high performing military vehicles, from a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon to a 110-tonne heavy equipment transporter designed to carry cargo like tanks.
  • Administration Assistant: You'll learn to be an administration, communication and resource management specialist supporting your commanders and colleagues in barracks and on exercises.
  • Warehouse Coordinator: You'll take on a critical warehouse management and logistics role, acquiring valuable supply chain skills and distribute state-of-the-art military equipment that most people don't get to see.

Life in the Military Service Program:

You'll also get the unique sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from serving your country and providing support to communities in need, both here and overseas.

Along with the highly purposeful work, you'll be working in a supportive environment alongside highly skilled professionals to help guide you throughout the whole program.

Benefits:

  • You will receive a salary starting from $69,660 plus generous 16.4% superannuation.
  • You will receive housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.

Requirements:

You must be aged between 17-24 years old to apply, an Australian Citizen and have completed Year 12, with passes in Year 10 English and Maths.

Applicants interested in the Driver and Warehouse Coordinator roles require a provisional licence before they enlist.
