About the Role

As a Track Inspector at Queensland Rail, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our rail network. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect and maintain the infrastructure in your district, ensuring that it meets the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Condition Management: Ensure that the asset condition is maintained and that any defects are identified and rectified in a timely manner.
  • Inspection and Planning: Plan and conduct asset condition inspections to identify any potential issues and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Defect Management: Prioritize defects and ensure that appropriate action is taken to rectify them.
  • Emergency Response: Arrange emergency response as required to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Effectively make data-driven decisions to ensure that our rail network is safe and reliable.
  • Effective Planning: Ensure that effective planning is in place to ensure that our rail network is maintained and upgraded as required.
  • Corridor Planning: Develop detailed corridor plans and associated scopes of works to ensure that our rail network is maintained and upgraded as required.
  • Support to Corridor Strategies: Support the development of corridor strategies to ensure that our rail network is maintained and upgraded as required.
  • Workforce Planning: Ensure that the workforce is adequately trained and resourced to perform their duties.
Hours and Roster
  • 9 on 5 off roster: Work a 9 on 5 off roster, Monday through to the following Tuesday.
  • Working Hours: Work from 6:00am – 3:00pm, Monday through to the following Tuesday.
  • On Call: Be on call once a fortnight, aligned to working days.
About You
  • National Driver's License: Hold a current national driver's license.
  • Queensland Rail Track Inspector Qualifications: Hold current Queensland Rail Track Inspector qualifications or transferrable track inspector qualifications.
