About this Role

This position is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, providing high-quality rehabilitation services to patients with neurological, acquired brain injury, spinal, orthopaedic, amputee and reconditioning needs.

As a Rehabilitation Medicine Registrar, you will be responsible for managing the care of patients on the inpatient rehabilitation ward and those receiving rehabilitation at home. Your duties will include conducting rehabilitation consults on acute wards, providing pre-amputation counselling as part of the diabetic foot service, attending case conference/multidisciplinary team meetings and outpatient clinics, supervising rotating JMS and medical student teaching, and accurately reflecting patient information within prescribed documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage up to 15 patients on the Rehab at Home program
  • Perform rehabilitation consults on acute wards, provide pre-amputation counselling as part of the diabetic foot service, attend stroke/neurology MDT meetings and a rehabilitation medicine and spasticity management outpatient clinic
  • Accurately record patient information within prescribed Western Health documentation
  • Develop discharge plans that reflect patient needs and communicate effectively with community providers
