Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Peer Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide education and information on family/carer experiences, needs, and ideas for service improvement. You will work closely with the Manager of the Youth program to support other staff, peer support workers, community groups, and other providers to deliver optimum services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Manager of the Youth program to develop and implement services that prioritize family and carer perspectives.
  • Provide education and information on family/carer experiences, needs, and ideas for service improvement.
  • Support other staff, peer support workers, community groups, and other providers to partner with young people and families to deliver optimum services.

Requirements:

  • Lived experience as a family member/carer of a person with an emotional/behavioural difficulties or mental illness and preferably with use of child & youth mental health services.
  • Experience in LLE Workforce leadership or Supervisory role or demonstrated experience in working from LLE perspective.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as a health-related discipline, education, community development, or welfare.
  • Appropriate work visa and current Victorian Driver's License.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one, and be willing to undergo a Background Check.
