About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at VMCH, where you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy and support students in a group-based model, working collaboratively with teachers to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Implement school-wide communication goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Assess, design, and produce communication strategies to meet the unique needs of students, including those with complex communication requirements.
  • Liaise with support services and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students' communication needs.
  • Contribute to Student Support Groups, providing expertise and guidance to ensure effective communication strategies are in place.
  • Provide professional development for school staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in supporting students with communication needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children check.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and skills in working with students with disabilities, including those with complex communication needs.
  • Experience in implementing communication strategies and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) technologies.
