This is a highly influential leadership role for an experienced electrical engineering professional. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of technical delivery and team management, with the ability to drive innovation and excellence in their field.

  • The primary objective of this role is to lead and manage the electrical engineering function across our minerals processing projects, ensuring that all work is delivered to the highest standard and within budget.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices, as well as experience in managing teams and leading projects.
  • Key responsibilities will include coordinating project electrical design activities, supervising design engineers and drafting staff, and selecting and managing external consultants.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing budgets and time schedules, managing assigned projects, and participating in the development of quality management processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will need to work closely with other principal engineers, business units, and regional engineering groups to ensure consistent and quality engineering outcomes.
  • Safety leadership for the electrical engineering team is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 15 years' experience in design consultancy environments, with a proven track record in electrical engineering and project management.
  • Experience in metals and minerals processing industry.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, including hazardous area, functional safety, lightning protection, lighting, and power system studies.
  • CPENG and/or RPEng accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build successful working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to network effectively within the industry to maintain and develop new contacts.
