Permanent Part Time Kitchen Hand Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Permanent Part Time Kitchen Hand to assist our Chefs/Cooks by keeping our kitchen and dining area clean and well organised. You will also support the team with preparing, cooking and serving nutritionally balanced and appropriate meals and snacks to our participants at Wandi Nerida.


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Kitchen Hand to join our team and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for clearing down of dining areas, kitchen, cooking equipment and tableware, assisting our Chefs with food preparation, helping to prepare meals and snacks as scheduled in the food plan, serving our participants meals and snacks in a supportive approach, and ensuring statutory hygiene and food storage and safety standards are met at all times during food preparation and storage.


Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Clearing down of dining areas, kitchen, cooking equipment and tableware.
  • Assisting our Chefs with food preparation, helping to prepare meals and snacks as scheduled in the food plan.
  • Serving our participants meals and snacks in a supportive approach.
  • Ensuring statutory hygiene and food storage and safety standards are met at all times during food preparation and storage.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role. Previous experience working with people affected by eating disorders would be beneficial but not essential. We recognise the value of staff with lived experience to instil hope post eating disorder recovery, therefore we encourage applications from people with lived experience of eating disorders (at least 2 years recovered), and family member/carers of people with eating disorders.

  • Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with people affected by eating disorders.
  • Lived experience of eating disorders (at least 2 years recovered).
  • Family member/carer of people with eating disorders.
