Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in upholding safety standards in a high-risk environment and supporting our commitment to safety excellence.

The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for implementing and overseeing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to minimise risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will provide support to the Production, Campaign and Project teams in the effective implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and stewarding comprehensive health and safety plans and programs
  • Collaborating with management to promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
  • Execution of contractor engagement, capability assessment and assurance activities
  • Facilitating risk assessments and implementing controls
  • Leading incident investigations and ensuring accurate reporting and documentation
  • Conducting hazardous materials and Dangerous Goods audits and inspections, hazardous chemical risk assessments
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated experience in health and safety within the oil and gas sector or other high-risk industries
  • Proven working knowledge of current WHS legislation, regulations, Australian Standards, and relevant codes of practice
  • Experience in contractor management, managing Dangerous Goods, and incident investigation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to work effectively in demanding environments while managing multiple responsibilities concurrently
