Overview

Consultant/Senior Consultant - Paediatric Nephrology – Women's & Children's Health Network. Location: Kaurna Land, North Adelaide (5006). Classification: MD2 - Consultant/Senior Consultant. Base salary: $227,591 – $299,884 (not including leave loading, superannuation, Rights of Private Practice or other monetary allowances as outlined in SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022). Employment: Part Time (0.5 FTE) – Term Contract (2 February 2026 to 3 August 2027).

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and community paediatric nephrology care using evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Lead and contribute to education, training, and mentorship for junior medical staff, trainees, and other health professionals.
  • Drive and participate in clinical research initiatives and multi-centre trials to advance knowledge in paediatric nephrology.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative team environment, manage conflict, and promote professional development.
  • Oversee quality management activities including clinical governance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of service delivery.
About You
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in paediatric renal medicine, preferably within a large teaching hospital setting.
  • Proven leadership, management, and motivational skills to lead teams and foster positive working environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in research and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
