Workplace Relations Professional

Victoria Legal Aid is seeking an experienced workplace relations professional to provide strategic advice and expertise to our HR team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our workforce has access to contemporary people management policies, practices, and systems for ongoing Employee Relations (ER) compliance.

This role will involve leading in the resolution of difficult workplace issues, disputes, and grievances, as well as disciplinary concerns, workplace investigations, and change consultations.

Collaboration with key stakeholders such as unions and representatives is a crucial aspect of this position.

About You

  • Significant experience in employee/workplace relations, including strategic advice and complex people and industrial relations matters.
  • Experience in planning, negotiation, implementation, and post-implementation review of enterprise agreements and demonstrated interpretation and operationalisation of industrial instruments, legislation, and legal advice.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, influencing, negotiating, and managing relationships effectively.
  • Able to lead, educate, coach, and develop others while championing change and supporting continuous improvement in ER practices.
  • A law degree and Victorian practising certificate are mandatory.
