As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal husbandry, care, and welfare while working closely with senior staff.
Maintain and develop exhibits to the highest standards, engaging guests through excellent customer service and education about native Australian fauna and flora.
Support front-of-house operations as requested by your manager.
Provide team support, assist in developing operational procedures, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure accountability for daily reporting.
Prioritize animal, guest, and staff safety by adhering to established policies and procedures.
Stay up-to-date on husbandry and training information regarding the animals within our collection.
Collect koala leaf and macropod browse when required and report any animal welfare or illness concerns.
Assist with Front of House duties, maintaining strict hygiene standards and reporting any safety hazards or incidents.
Contribute to the development of new public activities promoting education and conservation.
Coach and assist fellow team members on animal care and procedures.
Comply with relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements- Current QLD Driver's License (essential)
- At least 2 years' experience with native animals, preferably specializing in Koalas, Reptiles, or Macropods
- Tertiary qualifications in animal husbandry/zoology or equivalent experience/qualifications in captive animal management
- Exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills
- Proven guest-facing and communication skills
- Current First Aid certification
