Technical Lead - Product Development

The primary objective of this position is to oversee the technical aspects of product development, collaborating closely with the engineering team to establish and maintain technical standards. This role requires the ability to balance competing demands and ensure that products are built using best practices, meeting customer expectations.

  • Works in tandem with the product manager and designers to develop a comprehensive product vision, ensuring its feasibility and alignment with the technical capabilities of the product team.
  • Translates prioritised initiatives into a detailed technical roadmap to guide the engineering team in prioritising their work effectively.
  • Leads the engineering team, fostering collaboration between technical and non-technical roles to achieve business objectives. Provides regular updates on technical progress and timelines.
  • Guides engineers and other technical professionals in coaching and professional development to deliver high-quality products efficiently.
  • Documents technical requirements and ensures user stories have the necessary level of detail for engineers to build solutions effectively.
  • Leverages deep understanding of product vision to propose innovative technical solutions, collaborating with Engineering Practices to evolve engineering practices to support future direction.
  • Contributes to concept design/wireframes, proof-of-concepts, OKR development, scorecard, pilot design/scoping and initiative development.
  • Responsible for estimating development effort, meeting deadlines, delivering high-quality code, and responding to user support requests.
  • Contributes to development and maintenance of support strategies, operational standard procedures, performance strategies, and configuration practices to support consistency of practice.
