Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Student Services team, ensuring the effective delivery of student pastoral care and wellbeing programs.
  • Pastoral Care and Wellbeing: Foster a culture of wellbeing and resilience among students, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment.
  • Student Support and Guidance: Develop and implement strategies to support students with complex needs, including those requiring restorative interventions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of educators and support staff, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure the effective development of student services.
  • Communication and Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Education or equivalent, preferably with a Master's level education-based qualification.
  • Experience: Proven leadership experience in a day and boarding school setting, with a strong understanding of student protection policy and reporting procedures.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of student wellbeing and development, including restorative justice practices and positive psychology principles.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong emotional intelligence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to upholding the values and Christian ethos of The Southport School.
