We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead our Special Education Services team.
About the RoleAs the Head of Special Education Services, you will provide high-quality advice to school leadership teams, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
You will coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention, provide support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments, and participate in school decision-making processes and professional development to contribute to school goals, vision, and planning.
The Head of Special Education Services is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality advice to school leadership teams, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
- Provide support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
- Participate in school decision-making processes and professional development to contribute to school goals, vision, and planning.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good working knowledge of the department's inclusive education policy, experience in developing Individualised Care Plans (ICPs), and a good understanding and experience in supporting staff in providing reasonable adjustments for students.
You will also need to have high levels of experience working with a range of students with disabilities and be highly motivated and aspiring to be a Head of Special Education Services.
