Clinical Coder

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to join our team at SA Health. As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately coding patient data to ensure high-quality clinical documentation and morbidity & casemix profiling.

• Abstract and classify inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM codes and following established guidelines and coding standards.
• Provide coding and documentation advice to clinicians to ensure accurate recording of clinical & morbidity data.
• Ensure ethical documentation queries are completed to support accurate and comprehensive morbidity & casemix profiling.
• Access patient information via Sunrise or associated computer systems to ensure accurate coding of inpatient data.
• Demonstrate competence in APC data collection process, definitions, and procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in Activity Based Funding and DRG principles.
