We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to join our team at SA Health. As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding patient data to ensure high-quality clinical documentation and casemix profiling.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract and classify inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM codes and following established guidelines and coding standards.
- Provide coding and documentation advice to clinicians to ensure accurate recording of clinical and morbidity data.
- Ensure ethical documentation queries are completed to support accurate and comprehensive morbidity and casemix profiling.
- Access patient information via Sunrise or associated computer systems to ensure accurate coding of inpatient data.
- Demonstrate competence in APC data collection process, definitions, and procedures.
- Demonstrate competence in Activity Based Funding and DRG principles.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Coder who is passionate about delivering high-quality clinical documentation and casemix profiling. You will have a strong understanding of ICD-10-AM coding and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements- Satisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding course.
- Demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
