Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with a diverse range of environmental projects, working closely with our team of scientists, engineers, and chemists. The role will require the development and maintenance of our platforms, collection tools, and data management procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Analyse and condense technical data into fit-for-purpose maps, figures, reports, and presentations.
    • Deliver reports and presentations to project timelines and meet required quality standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Engage with team members and stakeholders to effectively achieve project outcomes.
    • Communicate key messages relevant to clients and stakeholders.
    • Develop, apply, and share technical expertise in GIS with other team members.
    • Supervise and mentor junior GIS staff.
  • Project Management
    • Identify required outcomes and use appropriate tools to deliver them.
    • Engage with technical personnel, managers, and regulators to achieve project goals.
    • Define and resolve problems within the technical area.
  • Business Development
    • Develop professional networks within professional bodies and with clients.
    • Identify potential opportunities for future work and assist with their realization.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in GIS, spatial science, or computer science.
  • 3-5 years' experience in GIS and data management roles.
  • Previous experience in applying GIS to environmental science will be well regarded.
  • Thorough understanding of GIS techniques, cartographic standards, and best-practice data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold corporate data management and cartographic standards.
  • High level of proficiency with modern GIS software, ideally including QGIS.
