Job Title: Senior Geospatial Information Analyst

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment as a Senior Geospatial Information Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support mining and petroleum environmental approval, compliance activities, special projects, and administration support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and implement GIS to support mining and petroleum environmental approval, compliance activities, special projects, and administration support.
  • Provide advice on future directions for Geographic Information Systems and coordinate in the design of system specifications and technical system documentation.
  • Assist in determining the information needs for various business activities and analyses, acquire, and customize geospatial data to support these activities.
  • Research and develop techniques to process and streamline operations and completion of assigned projects as per agreed schedule.
  • Investigate cartographic and digital information to respond to business queries, provide digital data services encompassing the manipulation and customization of source datasets for use in producing special purpose mapping and analysis products.
  • Provide advice to project teams and offer sound professional expertise when liaising with other professionals and technical staff and respond to enquiries on matters related to provision and quality of spatial data supply.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree qualification and extensive experience in Spatial Science/mapping discipline.
  • Considerable experience in customizing and enhancing GIS technologies.
  • Significant experience in managing acquiring and customizing geospatial digital data.
