About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Research Analyst to join our team at Brisbane City Council. As a key member of our Regional & Citywide Planning team, you will play a critical role in managing and developing land use activity datasets and tools, as well as undertaking research and analysis to support the Strategic Planning Program and other strategic and land use planning functions for Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop land use activity datasets and tools to support strategic planning and land use planning functions.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform urban development and infrastructure planning, including the use of GIS software and land use models.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic planning policies and initiatives.
  • Provide high-quality data and analysis to support decision-making and policy development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in GIS and urban planning.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work autonomously and in a team.
  • Strong understanding of urban planning, land use, and development activity datasets.
  • Ability to use database/GIS software and learn land use models.
  • Highly developed cartographic skills, including map production, data analysis, and manipulation using Geographical Information Systems.
