We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial aspects of a major fixed-price technology development, integration, and deployment project.

As the Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal outcomes for both the prime contractor and system integrator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate contractual changes and variations with the Principal and Subcontractors
  • Monitor contractual communications and draft necessary notices
  • Maintain variations and correspondence registers
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial provisions
  • Supervise dispute processes and manage internal change processes
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Provide commercial management training and coaching
  • Develop and maintain project commercial documentation
  • Ensure compliance with commercial management systems and procedures
  • Conduct internal and external audits
  • Provide commercial reporting to stakeholders
Requirements:
  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant field
  • A recognised project management or commercial management qualification or accreditation
  • Significant practical experience as a senior project or commercial manager
  • A demonstrated understanding of applying commercial management principles in high-risk and complicated projects
  • 10+ years of commercial management experience within project environments
  • Experience in the rail, telecoms, or construction industry
  • A demonstrated background in commercial leadership in both corporate and project-based positions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
