About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a team focused on developing their expertise and emerging research profile in the field of heart transplantation.



Main Responsibilities

  • Research: Work with leading clinicians and scientists to lead the heart transplantation program, contribute to study design, facilitate regular discussions, and seek and manage research funding.
  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise honours students, mentor PhD students, and provide feedback and training.
  • Citizenship and Service: Engage external stakeholders, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, and perform administrative functions.


About the Team

The Critical Care Research Group (CCRG) is a multi-disciplinary research network based at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH). CCRG's research is focused on patients with critical illness and outcomes depend on strong inter-departmental and international collaborations.

Key Requirements

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in biomedical science, cardiology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field.
  • An emerging profile in research in cardiology, critical care medicine, and/or cardiac transplantation.
  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, and in an efficient and well-organised manner under pressure.


About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team. You will have a strong background in biomedical science, cardiology, or a related field, and a proven track record of research excellence. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
