Catering Attendant Job DescriptionWe are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Catering Attendant. This position involves packing and preparing food trolleys, safely handling and cleaning equipment, and performing various tasks in a timely manner.Key Responsibilities:
  • Packing and Preparation: Packing and making up Food Trolleys (Carts) and Equipment for customer airlines.
  • Safe Handling and Cleaning: Safely handling, cleaning, counting, sorting and packing items such as glassware, dishes, cutlery, napkins and other sundry items.
  • Task Completion: Accurately performing all tasks and duties assigned in a timely manner.
  • Machinery Operation: Safely using machinery once trained, in your designated area.
  • Quality Control: Thoroughly understanding and following quality control techniques and ensuring customer specifications are met per flight briefing sheets.
  • Performance Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve performance and productivity in your work areas.
  • Inventory Management: Raising any discrepancies in stock take (inventory) if any items are missing.
  • Organisational Skills: Demonstrating strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Documentation: Ensuring that all documentation is completed per specification, customer and flight.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Availability: Working on both Morning and Afternoon Shifts.
  • Roster: Availability for Afternoon shifts on a 7-day roster (5 on 2 off), full-time 38hr week.
  • Experience: Experience of working in a food distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Numerical Skills: Strong numerical skills (accuracy counting is vital).
  • Health and Safety: Solid knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Basic Hygiene rules.
  • HACCP: HACCP experience preferred but not essential.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure in a busy open plan kitchen, warehouse and storage.
