Project Transition Specialist

This role involves coordinating activities relevant to the transition and acceptance of a naval vessel into service. The Project Transition Specialist will provide oversight of artefact delivery and maintenance, ensuring that they are aligned with schedule, scope, quality, and risk requirements.

The specialist will facilitate the transfer of responsibilities from one department to another, monitor progress, and report any issues or concerns. They will also ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination across all stakeholders involved in the transition process.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and action registers.
  • Ensure that all artefacts are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any risks or issues that may impact the successful completion of the project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimize disruptions to operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in project management, particularly in collaborative enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information professionally to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Eligibility for a Defence security clearance.
  • Availability to travel as required to meet project needs.

A background in defence industry project management is highly desirable, particularly in areas such as military systems, sustainment, and capability lifecycle management. Experience working on operational programs is also an advantage.
