General Manager Maintenance Execution

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our critical asset maintenance operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive strategic vision, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion transformative change initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide clear direction, empower your team, and foster an environment that encourages collaboration and achievement of workshop goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Optimise workshop operations through process improvement, lean principles, and workforce planning to achieve exceptional performance.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies while promoting a positive safety culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or associated field (Engineering preferred).
  • Lean / Six Sigma qualification highly regarded.
  • 10+ years of experience in operational execution leadership roles, with experience leading teams.
  • Experience in managing heavy diesel equipment or manufacturing workshops.
  • Deep understanding of maintenance management and work management processes.
  • Proven track record in driving performance improvements.
  • Well-developed business acumen and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to understand the financial impacts of operational decisions.
  • Strong influencing, motivational, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, multiple projects, and conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated track record of sustaining improvements.
  • Proven ability to build networks and manage relationships.
