Achieving Success

Role Overview
This permanent position is based at Appin mine, located near Wollongong, NSW, approximately 75 kilometers southwest of Sydney. As Manager Maintenance, you will lead and manage Appin Mine as part of the leadership team, driving strategies for the Maintenance department to achieve key strategic and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior management to define and implement Appin Mine's strategic direction and commercial outcomes.
- Provide leadership and support to the Maintenance department, ensuring performance aligns with the production forecast.
- Oversee maintenance planning, project execution, and compliance to achieve equipment availability and schedule targets.
- Develop and maintain the rolling plan in line with production forecasts.
- Promote safety and accountability while upholding South32's values and ensuring cost-effective maintenance execution.
About You
Candidates should have experience and demonstrate capability in:
- Substantial experience in underground coal mine maintenance.
- Proven leadership in managing mining operations and cross-functional teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning to develop effective maintenance strategies.
- Ability to deliver production forecasts and manage departmental performance.
- Commitment to safety and compliance, with a track record of maintaining operational standards.
- Demonstrated skills in coaching and mentoring.
Requirements
Qualifications include:
- Tertiary or trade qualification in a relevant engineering field.
- NSW Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Manager certification desirable.
- Frontline management qualification.
