Job Title:

Principal Tailings Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned civil or geotechnical engineer to lead our team in managing innovative and challenging projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple project assignments, collaborating with clients to ensure facilities are safe and compliant, and applying expertise in civil/geotechnical/tailings dam design, geotechnical analyses using various software packages, tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D), and site characterisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D)
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
  • Client Development;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Professional registration preferred but not essential.
  • Engineer of Record required.
  • At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software required.
  • Knowledge of numerical modeling tools preferred.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required.
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Valid Australian driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel required.
