
Psychological Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in delivering targeted psychological and psychosocial assessments, interventions, and consultations for consumers with complex mental health issues.
This is an opportunity to work closely with an enthusiastic team of healthcare professionals in the Adolescent Mental Health Unit at Campbelltown Hospital. As a valued member of the team, you will have the chance to provide 1:1 psychological intervention, run group programs, and offer behavioral management support.
You will work collaboratively with nurses, psychiatric registrars, consultant psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and diversional therapists to deliver high-quality care. Regular peer consultation, supervision, and support will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive psychosocial and psychometric assessments for diagnosis, interventions, and consultations.
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological treatments for consumers experiencing acute or complex mental health issues.
- Work independently to provide patient-focused care and contribute to multidisciplinary teams to achieve service goals and improved outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement processes for service development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Supervise Psychologists and other disciplines as needed, aligned with organizational requirements and professional development.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same).
- Minimum two-year Full Time equivalent APAC-accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in psychosocial and psychometric assessment, cognitive assessment, and assessment of psychopathology.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2) is required; applicants must obtain a NSW C-class license within three months of appointment if necessary.
