About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Science and Inclusive Education to join our school community. As a key member of the school executive team, you will be responsible for leading the Science faculty in implementing innovative, high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessments practices. You will also work collaboratively with the school community to develop a culture of professional practice that ensures the provision of engaging and strategic learning environments which lead to improved learning outcomes for a diverse range of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Science faculty in implementing innovative, high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessments practices.
  • Develop a culture of professional practice that ensures the provision of engaging and strategic learning environments which lead to improved learning outcomes for a diverse range of students.
  • Work collaboratively with the school community to achieve whole school initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in professional learning, including behaviour management and engagement, developing literacy and numeracy practices, and high potential and gifted education.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and student welfare.
  • The ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
  • Excellent educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
  • A knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
