Job Title: Operational Training Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Training Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for delivering on-the-job training, upskilling, and mentoring to existing mine controllers, builders, and maintenance controllers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in training and assessment, with experience in utilizing fleet management systems in a control room environment. They will also have excellent coaching and mentorship skills, with the ability to provide tailored support to team members at various experience levels.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and re-assessments of team members, as well as completing and submitting required documentation in support of training delivery. You will also be expected to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the training environment and work proactively with stakeholders to ensure the success of Autonomous Haulage Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-the-job training, upskilling, and mentoring to existing mine controllers, builders, and maintenance controllers
  • Conduct assessments and re-assessments of team members in line with Fortescue's Training and Assessment Procedure and Standards
  • Complete and submit required documentation in support of training delivery
  • Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement within the training environment
  • Work proactively with stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the success of Autonomous Haulage Systems
  • Ensure all mandatory courses are completed within the required timeframe

Qualifications and Experience:

  • TAEDEL311 – Provide Work Skill Instruction or equivalent
  • NAT - Carry Out Workplace Assessments or equivalent, or current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Proven experience utilizing a load and haul fleet management system such as MineStar, Modular/Frontrunner, Leica Jigsaw, Fortex in a control room environment
  • Experience delivering relevant and engaging training to diverse learners
  • Experience operating in an open cut mining environment desirable
  • Ability to utilize fleet management systems in an autonomous haulage operational environment
  • High-level understanding and ability to explain blend utility and assignment decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects effectively in dynamic work conditions
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft suite programs
