Your Responsibilities
In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will lead and manage research and development initiatives within our laboratory. This role is highly hands-on and requires a diverse skill set, including the design, integration, and operation of atomic quantum sensors.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Providing technical leadership and direction to a team of physicists and engineers.
- Designing and prototyping optical, mechanical, and electronic subsystems.
- Optimizing and ruggedizing atomic sensors for real-world applications.
- Integrating, optimizing, and deploying atomic sensors in practical environments.
Qualifications
Your background is less important than your ability to learn quickly and demonstrate the following competencies:
- PhD in atomic, molecular, or quantum physics, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant academic or industry experience.
- Experience with laser spectroscopy, laser cooling, and atom interferometry.
- Proficiency in programming and automation, particularly with Python for laboratory instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis.
- Expertise in ultra-high vacuum systems.
- Familiarity with narrow linewidth lasers and frequency stabilization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to obtain the necessary security clearance as required.
