Atomic Physicist

Nomad Atomics is a pioneering company in the field of quantum sensing, and we're seeking a highly skilled Atomic Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our research and development program, you'll be responsible for driving and managing projects in our lab, working closely with a cross-functional team to design, integrate, and operate atomic quantum sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and direction to a team of physicists and engineers.
- Design and prototype optical, mechanical, and electronics subsystems.
- Optimize and ruggedize atomic sensors for practical applications.
- Integrate, optimize, and deploy atomic sensors in real-world environments.
Requirements:
- PhD in atomic, molecular, or quantum physics.
- Familiarity with laser spectroscopy, laser-cooling, and atom interferometry of atomic species.
- Aptitude towards programming and automation, with competence in Python for lab instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis.
- Expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, narrow linewidth lasers, and frequency stabilization.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- A competitive salary of $120-$160k AUD plus 11.5% super, depending on experience.
