Job Title: Power Station Supervisor

About the Role:

The Power Station Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power stations. This involves proactively monitoring equipment, responding to data, and collaborating with site-based personnel to prevent or minimize power interruptions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control power station equipment to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Liaise with site-based personnel to support day-to-day operations and ensure seamless collaboration
  • Provide safety oversight of remote operations and lone workers to mitigate risks and ensure compliance
  • Liaise with office staff to report on power station status and problems, facilitating timely resolution and minimizing downtime
  • Operate equipment according to established protocols to prevent or minimize power interruptions and ensure smooth operation
  • Restore loss of generation in a safe and timely manner, minimizing disruption to operations
  • Communicate with stakeholders via incident reports and daily logs to maintain transparency and accountability
  • Support company policies and operational procedures to ensure consistency and adherence

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to operate plant via remote computer operations, leveraging advanced technology to optimize performance
  • Prioritization and functioning under pressure to make informed decisions quickly and effectively
  • Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely
  • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a shift, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Power Plant Operator or equivalent experience, requiring strong technical knowledge and expertise
  • Power or heavy industry background in process, mechanical, or electrical trades, with a focus on systems and operations
  • Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office software, with proficiency in relevant tools and applications
