Asset Management Strategist

About this role:

The Asset Management Strategist will play a pivotal position in the Estate Management team, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive campus planning strategies to optimize space utilization and operational efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand education, research, and social impact objectives of designated faculties and divisions.
  • Develop long-term strategic plans to optimize the university's estate portfolio, aligning with faculty/divisional strategies and the campus master plan.
  • Work collaboratively with other Asset Planning Managers to assess education, research, and student space needs across disciplines.
  • Develop and regularly review the Faculty/Division Asset Management Plan (FAMP), articulating accommodation strategy and facilities development for the designated portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a robust methodology to assess the value of research spaces and prioritizing allocation, usage, and capital investment.
  • Ensuring equitable allocation and optimization of spaces within designated envelopes, aligning with the FAMP and user needs.
  • Negotiating complex internal space or supporting infrastructure issues to achieve acceptable solutions for all stakeholders.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and evaluating potential solutions to future space needs, preparing executive-level business cases and cost-benefit analysis.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in estate management, property development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of technical infrastructure, space utilization, and strategic planning principles.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
