We provide our care primarily through hospitals, residential care homes and home-based care as well as services for dementia support, community palliative care, rehabilitation, positive aging, and older persons' mental health.

The Role

You will utilize your pastoral expertise to coach staff and volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs and goals of clients, their families, and staff.

  • Provide pastoral care and support to residents, relevant families and staff
  • Be the point of contact for relevant internal and external support/referral services
  • Act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for our mission, motivation and values
  • Share pastoral expertise and coach staff to support the spiritual needs of residents
  • Conduct assessments of resident/family needs and goals on entry to the service using the HOPE assessment tool
  • Develop a spiritual care plan, working with residential staff to ensure client/family spiritual needs and goals are acknowledged
  • Participate in case management reviews and contribute to the development and ongoing evaluation of a care plan
  • Liaise with managers, case managers and attend staff and case management meetings as required
About You

To be successful you will have:

  • A strong understanding and experience of people living with dementia, the impact on carers, and journeys of grief and bereavement
  • A strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement
  • Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need
  • Highly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathy
