Job Overview:

The Cyber Security Governance and Risk Lead plays a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and promoting cyber security policies, standards, and guidelines.

This leadership position oversees the management of cyber risk, including risk identification, analysis, treatment, and ongoing maintenance of the cyber risk register.

Key responsibilities include managing internal and external audit activities, collecting evidence, tracking remediation, and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and regulatory obligations.

Additionally, this role entails establishing and managing third-party cyber risk assessment processes in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing and managing policy frameworks aligned to organisational, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and effective cyber risk registers, conduct thorough risk assessments, and manage treatment plans efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST CSF 2.0 and WA Government Cyber Security Policy, with experience in tracking and reporting compliance.
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing internal and external audits, including evidence collection, control effectiveness reviews, and remediation tracking.
  • Able to assess and mitigate vendor and third-party cyber risk, working collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of improving cyber awareness, influencing behaviours, and embedding security into business decision-making.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts, engage stakeholders effectively, and present compelling insights to governance forums.
  • Industry experience in cyber security, demonstrating both leadership and technical depth.
