Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team. This role involves preparing detailed technical deliverables for clients and ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality work and adhering to design standards.

Responsibilities
  • Design Development: Interpret conceptual designs and transform them into detailed technical deliverables.
  • Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&IDs, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOMs, and Panel Arrangements.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintain AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures, including assessing software and tools and driving continual improvement.
  • Training & Audits: Train new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across relevant industries and Australian standards.
Requirements
  • Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognized equivalent) or relevant electrical trade background.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical design drafting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable.
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Good oral communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills.
  • Understanding of design standards and willingness to adhere to industry procedures.
