Fleet Management Job Description

As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of a workshop, including supervision of staff, work allocation, and maintenance of plant and equipment. Your primary goal is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the fleet.

This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be leading a team of workshop staff. You will also be responsible for supervising trainee/apprentice employees and ensuring they receive the necessary training and support.

You will oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repairs of mobile plant and equipment, including agitator trucks, truck & dog, semi-trailer, and B-double combination haulage trucks, tipper and flat top trucks, front end loaders, and forklifts.

The ideal candidate will have a current Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence and knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme. They will also possess comprehensive computer literacy and hold an Automotive Mechanical Technology qualification.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the workshop
  • Oversee maintenance, servicing, and repairs of plant and equipment
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with company policy and NHVAS requirements
  • Address all non-conformances in relation to NHVAS Maintenance Management

The successful candidate will be able to lead by example, demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and have a commitment to continuous improvement.
