Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Civil CAD Drafter with 5-12 years of experience to join our team to work on road and highway projects.

In this position, you will utilize your technical expertise and design management skills to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure designs, planning, and execution meet Main Roads WA standards and project objectives.

  • Detailed Design Drafting: Prepare high-quality civil engineering drawings for highways, interchanges, and roadworks using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
  • MRWA Standards Compliance: Produce and review drawings to ensure alignment with Main Roads WA guidelines, specifications, and protocols.
  • Documentation Preparation: Develop and manage detailed drawing sets, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, and detail sheets for tender, construction, and as-built purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver coordinated drawing packages.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct self-checks and peer reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliverables in accordance with project and MRWA requirements.
  • Mentoring: Provide technical support and guidance to less-experienced drafters within the team.
  • BIM & Digital Engineering: Support the adoption of digital engineering workflows, including data management and model collaboration as required by MRWA and project stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

Advanced (or approaching advanced) skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and/or Microstation platforms. Proven experience delivering projects for, or in partnership with, Main Roads WA. High level of accuracy in producing and checking drawings and models. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Experience with BIM, 3D modelling, and digital delivery methodologies. Previous involvement in major infrastructure programs across WA.
