Underground Cable Technician

We have an exciting opening for an Underground Cable Technician on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

Role Overview

As the Underground Cable Technician, your primary responsibility will be to collaboratively construct and maintain the underground electricity distribution network, ensuring safety, reliability, and affordability for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building network infrastructure in accordance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Addressing on-site technical challenges related to design and construction.
• Executing scheduled construction and maintenance tasks to guarantee the efficient operation of the network.
• Responding promptly to faults and isolating the network for necessary repairs to uphold network integrity.
• Managing on-site interactions with customers, traffic, and the public.
• Contributing to team development by sharing technical knowledge and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Cable Jointing or equivalent.
• Valid WA 'C' Class Drivers Licence (subject to business requirements).
• Proven experience in the construction and maintenance of electricity transmission and/or distribution networks.
