Underground Cable Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of an Underground Cable Technician. In this position, you will play a crucial part in the construction and maintenance of the underground electricity transmission and distribution network, ensuring safety, reliability, and affordability in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct network infrastructure in accordance with established design specifications and construction standards.
- Address technical challenges that may arise on-site, related to design and construction.
- Execute scheduled construction and maintenance tasks to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of the network while maintaining positive relationships with customers and the public.
- Respond promptly to faults, isolating the network for necessary repairs to uphold network integrity and minimize impact on customers.
- Manage on-site interactions with customers, traffic, and the public effectively.
- Contribute to team development by sharing technical knowledge and mentoring less experienced team members.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Cable Jointing or an equivalent qualification.
- A valid WA 'C' Class Drivers Licence, subject to business requirements.
- Proven experience in the construction and maintenance of electricity transmission and/or distribution networks.
