Job Role Overview

The Correctional Officer plays a pivotal role in maintaining the Centre's safety and security, while also facilitating the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of offenders assigned to you, providing proactive support to address their offending behaviour
  • Collaborate effectively with the Centre's multidisciplinary team, including Clinicians, Health and Mental Health staff, and external partners
  • Conduct daily head counts and searches for contraband
  • Accompany offenders to various appointments, such as hospital visits and court appearances
  • Oversee visitor management within the prison and coordinate offender visitation sessions
  • Perform perimeter searches of the facility and regulate access for individuals entering or exiting
