Welding Specialist Required

We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Specialist to join our team on a fixed-term basis.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Witness welder qualification testing daily and verify qualifications against industry standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections of completed test plates to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Authenticate welder qualification test record sheets daily and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend destructive testing of samples at Intertek three times a week and verify results against specifications.
  • Authenticate welder qualification test certificates weekly and ensure timely issue.

Role Details:

  • The position follows a 9-day fortnight schedule, aligned with operational requirements.
  • No weekend or public holiday coverage is required unless mutually agreed.
  • Site attendance is required from 09:00 to 15:00 (minimum).
  • Regular lab visits to review welding results, integrated into site attendance hours.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary organization in a field such as welding, engineering, or physical science.
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution, with progress toward or achievement of chartered or incorporated engineering status.
  • Adherence to professional codes of conduct and relevant ethics codes.
  • Proficiency in combining general and specialist engineering knowledge to optimize the use of existing and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to provide technical and commercial leadership within assigned responsibilities.
  • Capacity to obtain necessary security clearances (police check).
  • Strong command of English language appropriate for role.
