**Welding Surveyor -New Building**

**Location: -**Adelaide

**Tenure**: 12 months

**What we're looking for**

We are seeking a qualified Welding Inspector to join our team on a fixed-term basis until December 2025. This role supports our growing defence-related new building projects, specifically in collaboration with BAESMA.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Witnessing welder qualification testing on a daily basis.
- Conducting visual inspections of completed test plates daily.
- Signing off welder qualification test record sheets daily.
- Witnessing destructive testing of samples at Intertek three times a week.
- Signing off welder qualification test certificates weekly.

Role Details:

- The position follows a 9-day fortnight schedule, aligned with BAE operations (RDO).
- No weekend or public holiday coverage is required unless mutually agreed.
- Site attendance is required from 09:00 to 15:00 (minimum).
- Weekly lab visits to review welding results, integrated into site attendance hours.

**The role**
- Carry out relevant activities, manage projects, and provide expert advice for service delivery within your area of expertise, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Deliver outputs that meet agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards, and take responsibility for reviewing and monitoring the work of other employees as required.
- Engage with internal and external clients to discuss deliverables and propose solutions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, relevant legislation, and industry standards.
- Maintain a commitment to Continuous Professional Development, staying disciplined, knowledgeable, and up-to-date in your field.
- Assess and recommend the time and value of work for external clients, and assist in determining the most suitable fee and cost structure.
- Contribute to client management by continually improving service delivery based on client feedback.
- Ensure that required authorizations are obtained and kept current, which may include Activity Monitoring.
- Perform routine administrative tasks in accordance with current processes and procedures.

**What you bring**
- A degree or equivalent qualification from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register in a relevant field such as welding, engineering, or physical science (minimum two-year program), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution with relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
- Membership in a relevant professional institution, with progress toward or achievement of chartered or incorporated engineering status.
- Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the Lloyd's Register Code of Ethics (IMS01).
- Proficiency in combining general and specialist engineering knowledge to optimize the use of existing and emerging technologies.
- Capable of providing technical and commercial leadership within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to obtain the necessary security clearances (police check).
- Strong command of the English language appropriate for the role.
