We are seeking an experienced telecommunications professional to lead the delivery and sustainment of operational communications services in a complex energy environment.

  • Technical leadership is required, as well as stakeholder engagement and oversight of telecom systems supporting critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice, direction, design, and sustainment of operational communications services.
  • Plan, develop, and support communications projects for offshore and onshore businesses.
  • Support the engineering team with technical expertise.
  • Oversight of engineering processes and governance to ensure fit-for-purpose operations.
  • Project ownership and execution with varying sizes and complexities.
  • Governance and management of service providers to ensure successful delivery, meeting all requirements.
  • Contributing to the design of common information models.
  • Ensuring integrity authority and technical custodian roles are fulfilled.
  • Leading process safety management initiatives in project changes.
  • Understanding principles of safety-critical elements.
  • Continuous improvement of business practices and policies.
  • Solid stakeholders management skills and experience.
  • Understanding business use of data and stakeholder requirements to support work processes and strategic business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years working as a Telecommunications Engineer in resources, O&G, and energy sectors.
  • Practical exposure to OT Communications systems and services through integration, construction, or commissioning.
  • Delivery of small and medium-sized projects from specification to handover.
  • Responsible roles in construction, integration, site supervision, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Participation in EPC major projects in the energy sector.
  • Delivery of products and services via international supply chains.
  • Application of Australian and international standards in the delivery of telecom systems.
  • Adoption of recommendations and ensuring compliance with relevant notified bodies and government agencies.
  • Perth-based with full Australian working rights.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer with an accredited tertiary qualification in electronic/communications engineering or equivalent.
  • Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
  • Eligible for charter status (CPEng).
