Operational Risk Management Position

This role plays a crucial part in fostering a robust operational risk culture, driving continuous improvement in processes and controls across the organization.

The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Financial Markets to deliver strategic advice on managing end-to-end risks and enhancing the control environment. They will collaborate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including trading desks and support teams, to drive effective decision-making.

In this position, you will support the business on articulating risk issues and controls, evaluating risks in new products and initiatives, investigating incidents to identify root causes, and testing the effectiveness of controls.

  • Strategic Advice: Provide expert guidance on managing risks and enhancing controls in Financial Markets.
  • Risk Evaluation: Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate risks in new products and initiatives, ensuring effective decision-making.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and testing the effectiveness of controls.

To succeed in this role, you will possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to engage and influence at multiple levels. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, as well as the ability to interpret and balance commercial issues within a risk framework.

Key Responsibilities1. Risk Management Strategy:

Develop and implement risk management strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including traders, analysts, and other risk professionals.

3. Incident Response:

Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, root cause analysis, and control remediation.

4. Risk Reporting:

Develop and maintain risk reports, providing insights into risk exposures and trends.

5. Compliance:

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk management.

Requirements1. Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business.

2. Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Non-Financial Risk Management or Assurance supporting a Financial Markets business.

3. Skills:

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at multiple levels.

4. Personal Attributes:

A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to interpret and balance commercial issues within a risk framework.
