Mechanic Role Overview

As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and repair work on customer vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test vehicles to identify mechanical issues and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform services such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and filter replacements.
  • Detect and rectify engine failures, brake issues, gearbox faults, and electrical/mechanical malfunctions.
  • Conduct thorough test drives and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and emissions regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and detailing as needed.
  • Accurately record all service and repair activity.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment by adhering to operating procedures and performing regular maintenance checks.
  • Manage parts and supplies inventory, including ordering and stock verification.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to perform MOT-related inspections and vehicle assessments.
  • Experience in rebuilding engines and gearboxes.
  • Familiarity with LPG conversions and tuning.
  • Experience in fitting radios and other vehicle features.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
