Cloud Solution Architect

About the Role
The Cloud Solution Architect will lead architecture activities and make recommendations on broad, complex architecture decisions. Key to this is the ability to work closely with business areas, understanding business strategy and objectives and communicating in business terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting business areas in the development of initiatives; including architectural reviews and solution approach assessments.
- Developing solution architecture for projects and setting the expectations of the solution design to meet the business objectives.
- Identifying, scoping, and validating solutions (considering broader implications) against established architectural strategy and standards.
- Developing and maintaining the architecture repository during project delivery to ensure change resulting from project implementation are reflected in the architecture.
- Conducting due diligence of pipeline requests through assessing technology options, third-party due diligence, vendor offerings, alignment to technology roadmap, to make recommendations and provide estimates for delivery as a basis for high-level business cases.
- Providing practical architectural advice and support to all areas of the IT Service Centre to ensure a common understanding of opportunities, risks, and recommendations are considered when developing solutions.
Experience and Capabilities
- Significant experience in the development of solutions in a similar role.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and how it informs project delivery.
- Experience designing for and delivering in Public Cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS).
- A strong technical background in one (or ideally multiple) of the following architectural domains (Applications, Infrastructure, Integration, Cloud).
- Experience with the TOGAF framework advantageous.
