An exciting role has emerged for a Control Systems Expert to join a team undertaking automation and process control projects.

The Control Systems Expert will be responsible for implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Control Systems used in automation and process control.

About the Role

This position integrates into a multi-disciplined team and is responsible for providing technical support services for automation and telemetry infrastructure. This Expert will manage external technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying control systems.

The Control Systems Expert will leverage problem-solving skills to troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the network effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams to ensure automation and telemetry infrastructure assets are appropriately maintained and operable.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safety, customer, and environmental risks are effectively managed.
  • Develop project plans and schedules to ensure appropriate resource allocation and timings.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure works meet client-set response times and associated KPIs.
  • Oversee quality control processes and work with QA functions to ensure high-quality results.
  • Lead operational and maintenance design reviews for new Control System assets.
  • Assist and review development and modification of Control Systems software applications (HMI and PLC), plus database management and associated integrations.
  • Provide troubleshooting and triage support.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity and IT team to ensure compliance through vulnerability assessments and other associated IT tasks with network security stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing data analysis and expert guidance on real-time improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to Control Systems enquiries and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Contribute to Control Systems asset planning, renewals, and creation processes, asset management policies, strategies, and plans.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders while representing and managing interests.
  • Develop and use information and management systems for operational activities and programs delivery.
