Job Title: Academic Mentor

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position at a senior high school.

The Rise Up program aims to support students in achieving personal growth and success by providing extended opportunities for engagement with the school and community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop targets for student improvement and co-design plans to meet them.
  • Provide learning opportunities to support small group learning and academic achievement.
  • Lead whole-school assemblies and enhance student voice through the Student Leadership Team.
  • Support student leadership growth and development.
  • Collaborate with staff to provide real-world learning experiences.
  • Help students build a portfolio of evidence showcasing growth and readiness for further education or employment.
  • Work with the PBS Committee to embed a consistent whole-school behaviour approach.
  • Contribute to improving attendance and community engagement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching and mentoring students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
